One thing we always say when recommending artificial grass is that it has longevity of life and doesn’t need very much maintenance. The products used in the installation are always durable and manufactured from the best quality materials but of course there is a limit on how long they will last, especially materials or parts of them which go into the ground.
Obviously the ground has moisture and other elements in the soil which can over time cause erosion or rotting if that material is wood for example. We always advocate for artificial grass if the customer tells us they struggle with their lawn or they find their lawn doesn’t grow that well, but of course while the time for replacing your grass will eventually come one day – albeit in ten years or so depending on how much care you take with it – the wooden trim around the edge usually needs replacing before the grass does.
Here at Landscapia we are constantly striving to improve the service we provide to our customers as well as changing the way we carry out landscaping jobs by using innovative products and technologies to give the highest quality finish to all of our jobs and installations. We’re happy to announce that we now have recycled plastic edging available in place of traditional timber, which of course will not rot or crumble. It costs more than timber but it really will last a lifetime and you won’t have to worry about treating the wood or replacing it in five years or so. The frame surrounding your artificial grass will now last longer than the grass instead of the other way round!
