Landscape trends of 2016

Since the dawn of time (or at least gardens), everyone has wanted a beautiful garden that they can show off to their friends and family and enjoy when the sun is out. That has never, and will never change. But what does change quite frequently is how people landscape and design their outdoor space.

In fact, every year, certain gardening and landscaping trends all are the rage and in this blog, we’d like to take you through three of the biggest trends of 2016.

Colour

Whether you decide to paint your shed or fencing bright blue, green, pink or yellow, colourful gardens are big this year. People are moving away from the traditional white and brown and are indulging in more unusual colour tones. Colourful gardens are where it’s at; so go grab some paint and pick up some colourful flowers from the garden centre.

Bringing the living room outdoors

Over the last few years there has been a massive trend towards bringing the comfort of your home outdoors. That’s why things like rattan garden furniture, hot tubs and fire pits have become increasingly popular. 2016 is going to see even more of this “outdoor living” which gives people more space in the summer.

Simple maintenance

Whilst people have a keen eye for design and will invest time and money into creating the perfect looking garden, they’re pretty unwilling to enslave themselves to regular maintenance and heavy upkeep. This is why people opt for gardens that pretty much maintain themselves, which has seen the rise of artificial grass installation.
